Albert “Al” Smith is a dedicated public servant, educator, military veteran, and community leader committed to building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Galveston County.
A proud graduate of Texas Southern University, Al earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education before completing a Master’s Degree in Special Education Administration from Prairie View A&M University. He devoted 15 years to serving as a special education teacher, advocating for students with diverse learning needs and supporting families with compassion and integrity.
Albert “Al” Smith proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps with the 10th Marine Regiment at Camp Lejeune, where he developed the values of leadership, discipline, accountability, and service that continue to guide him today.
Albert “Al” Smith is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Texas City, working alongside community leaders to promote service, strengthen local partnerships, and improve the quality of life for families throughout the region.
As a candidate for Galveston County Judge, Albert “Al” Smith is committed to responsible fiscal leadership, transparent government, public safety, emergency preparedness, and expanding opportunity for every resident. His priorities include supporting economic growth, improving infrastructure, expanding affordable housing, investing in mental and behavioral health services, and ensuring every community has a strong voice in county government.
